This past week, mental health professionals came together at the serene Hippo Lakes in Limpopo for a truly memorable congress. Surrounded by nature, we gathered with therapists and mental health professionals from across the country — and beyond — to explore the depth and beauty of Sandplay.
The congress program was rich and engaging, filled with presentations that challenged, inspired, and educated. Delegates shared research, case studies, and personal experiences that illuminated both the clinical and symbolic dimensions of Sandplay therapy. What stood out most at the congress was the spirit of connection: whether during formal sessions or informal conversations over meals, there was a tangible sense of community, learning, and mutual support.
Our group was wonderfully diverse, with congress participants traveling from near and far, creating a blend of perspectives that deepened the richness of the congress. Having both national and international voices in the same space sparked conversations that reminded us of the global reach and shared heart of Sandplay.
As I reflect on the congress, I am filled with gratitude for the presenters who gave their time and wisdom, for the delegates who brought their openness and curiosity, and for the beautiful setting at Hippo Lakes that nurtured our work together.
And now, looking ahead, I am thrilled to share that our new Sandplay Training begins in March next year. This training offers a unique opportunity to dive deeper into the practice, symbolism, and therapeutic power of Sandplay. Registrations are open, and we’ve introduced flexible payment options to make participation more accessible.
For those who were part of the congress — thank you for helping make it so special. And for those who couldn’t join us this time — we look forward to welcoming you into training, or at our future gatherings.

With warmth and appreciation,
